I have been working with a Room 9 student and also one student from my class. We have been working on our snagit video. Making a snagit video was pretty hard so we needed to practise a few times.

Film Festival: Getting excited!

After all those great movies I got really excited to watch all of them again. I want to say good job to Katrina and Saluselo saying those hard words at the front of heaps of people.

Sharing information

Before we launched our own blogs, we checked out some student blogs in Manaiakalani to see what kinds of information people share.  We noticed that they used photographs and videos as well as writing to share their learning.  We created an infographic to share what we discovered.

Taking care of my chromebook

In Term 2 Mrs Grant taught us about Kawa of Care. This means that it is my job to look after my Chromebook carefully when I am working and when I carry it around the classroom.

An important day - ANZAC Day

On 25th April 2015, it was the 100th anniversary of ANZAC soldiers

landing at Gallipoli.  We learnt lots of things about life and war for the ANZAC soldiers when we visited Auckland Museum in April.  We created poppies, we have written poems and letters about ANZAC and World War 1.

Making pizza fractions!

We are learning about fractions this term.  To remember and think about what we already know, we made sausage roll and pizza with clay. We divided our shapes into fractions.  Each piece was the same size. Then, we made some pizza toppings for a whole pizza.  We shared them out on our pizza.  Each quarter of my pizza had the same number of toppings.

Going to have dinner!

This is one of the first Digital Learning Objects that we created and it was quite tricky.  I chose somewhere in the world I would like to visit one day.  Then I found an image of it on Google images.  Next, I cut around a photograph of my head using Pixlr so I could put  myself in that place.  Maybe I will travel there in the future in real life.

We are learning to create strong, unique passwords and make sure our Google account is secure.

My name is Kuini and I am in Year 5 at Ruapotaka School. My teacher is Mrs Buchanan and I am in Room 10. I am Samoan.

My TOP TIP for using the Chromebook is Ctrl O. Ctrl O comes up with a file. My favourite sports are rugby and soccer and I am a little bit good at skipping.

My favourite songs are by Stan Walker.  My favourite food is KFC and  my favourite chocolate is a flake. When I grow up, I want to work at the zoo.
